Tarawera:- 14.8 m [48.5'] charter power cat
Clearwater Spirit was intended to operate on lake Tarawera, but was also to be used as a corporate boat during the America's Cup. This dual role which necessitated being able to operate in relatively rough conditions, as well as the smooth lake ones, along with the owners preference of a low profile; our solution to this wast using a stepped wing deck and an underwing nacelle. This also meant that there was only sitting headroom in the forward lounge area with standing headroom restricted to the aft section and hulls. In practice, this wing, which was higher up forward and lower down aft, proved to be very successful and the Tarawera design did everything that was asked of it.
