In the "Streaker" the design emphasis is on performance rather than accommodation. It follows the lightweight wide beam trend of most of my catamarans and as a consequence has a high sail carrying capacity with the associated speed. Reducing the beam for trailing is done by telescoping the rectangular alloy beams. This is most easily accomplished in the water but can be done on a special trailer or on the land.
