Indigo - 43

Indigo - 43
13.2 m[43'] charter catamaran

The "Indigo - 43" was designed primarily for charter work, hence the centrally located heads in the hulls and the galley in the wing. The twin cockpit doors either side of the helm plinth also facilitate the movement of large numbers of people usually found on a charter vessel. There are walkthrough transoms,  you don't have to clamber out of the cockpit  and the inboard side of the hulls down aft are cut away to create a larger than usual boarding platform that allows the dingy to come in along side to transfer passengers. The cockpit has generous seating and also features a barbecue and a removable game-fishing chair. The boat is helmed from a raised central plinth which also has the electric main sheet winch ready to hand. Saildrives are the auxiliary of choice with the stock two bladed folding propeller replaced with three bladed feathering propellers to give more "bite" in adverse conditions and reverse. The rig is simple, non-rotating, aft swept spreader rig. This is lighter and more stable than a diamond supported mast but it does restrict the overlap of the headsails. The use of upper spreaders and shrouds allows for the carrying of light weather extras without using runners. An in boom roller furling set up is suggested for the main and the headsail is roller reefing.
