The basic design of the "Disco Volante" (Flying Saucer) is equally applicable to both the pacific flying proa and the Atlantic one. However is shown it is an Atlantic proa. The fully 360 degree rotatable balestron wing rig solves most of the problems previously associated with proas and should enable changes of direction to be made almost as quickly as in other mulithulls although "shunting" to change direction is still required. The configuration of the accommodation makes it potentially self righting.This is a high performance craft aimed at finishing first in its class in ocean racing.
